I am a coach and facilitator with over 20 years experience of helping individuals, leaders and teams be their best. I've worked side by side with C-suite execs, led teams and held senior positions myself. I've been involved in large scale change programmes and numerous culture change and leadership development intiatives.
I've always been interested in the people aspects of business. I love people. I believe when you bring people together, in a space free from judgement, good things happen. I've also always felt frustrated about the lack of truth within the workplace. The masks we put on, the judgements we have about colleagues, the competition between departments when essentially we all want the same thing. We all want to enjoy our work, have positive relationships, 'success' for ourselves and our organisations. None of us really want to be judged and feel fear. Yet too often this is what is happening and it's getting tin the way of productivity and happiness. I believe, the truth is we all want to be accepted, to learn, to grow and to be our best. That's when really great things for happen and we perform at out optimum for ourselves and our organisations.
It’s important to me that a coaching relationship reflects my own personal values of trust, openness and honesty. I aim to create a space where you can be fully yourself, without fear of any judgement. This, I believe, is where real learning takes place.
I am most passionate about managing our minds positively to help improve performance and be our best. This can include dealing with confidence issues, imposter syndrome, overwhelm and stress - all of which have a direct impact on our performance, resilience and well being.
I started my career in Marketing and PR which evolved to Internal Communications & Employee Engagement where I spent many years involved in large scale organisational change programmes. I moved in to Learning & Development 10 years ago was a natural progression. I am an experienced leader and manager, my last in house role being Group Head of Learning and Development for the City & Guilds Group. I’ve led a range of successful leadership development, coaching and culture change programmes to build engagement, trust and performance.
Through my training with Catherina O'Gorman, Founder of Think Love Education, I realised that fear is what most often gets in the way of us being our best. Fear of getting things wrong, of what others think, having that difficult conversation, of not being good enough – whatever it may be, it comes back to a fear, big or small.
So, in coaching, we will explore this and identify how our thinking impacts our behaviour and how to create new patterns of thinking that align with how we want our lives to be. Coaching clients have described me as ‘warm and empathetic’, ‘practical and insightful’ and ‘not afraid to challenge and stretch me’.
