What am I seeing in the world?

What am I seeing in the world?

I’m seeing women feeling trapped in a relentless cycle of work, kids, family, life – grateful for much yet struggling to feel joyful as they’re too burnt out to feel at all.

I’m seeing women feeling stressed and anxious – deep down worried they’re not good enough leaders, colleagues, wives, mothers, friends, daughters – whatever ‘roles’ we define ourselves by.

I’m seeing women thriving in busy-ness yet not nourishing themselves or finding time to connect with the people and things they love the most.

I’m seeing women getting cross, frustrated, resentful with their kids, partners, colleagues, and themselves.

I’m seeing women dependent on feeling needed and validated by others.

I’m seeing women worrying about what others think of them, comparing themselves to others, not feeling confident enough, good enough, clever enough, strong enough – the list could go on!

I’m seeing women fearful about the post-Covid return to the workplace and what that may or may not bring.

I’m seeing women feeling the only way to cope is to control all aspects of their lives, their kids’ lives, their relationships.

I’m seeing women sacrificing themselves for others, constantly.

I’m seeing women saying ‘everything’s fine’, when deep down they feel vulnerable and afraid.

I’m seeing all of these things, as I have been this woman.

Yet, I’m also seeing the gifts of these women. The value they bring to every interaction they have. The opportunity for them to step into their lives and create the future they want.

I see the value an empowered female leader can bring to the workplace. The role model they can be to all the other women rising in their organisations.

I see the women that know that success comes from within, and who know that by changing how they think, the things they think about change.

I see the women that use their vulnerability as their strength, their opportunity to support and inspire others.

I see the women that can find their voice, speak their truth, express their needs and keep healthy boundaries.

I see the women that can create the lives they want for themselves, their family and relationships.

I see the women who can have fun while being creative, innovative and productive in and out of work.

I see the women who can balance joyful motivating work with a happy home life that is right for them.

I see women who still have those fearful / stressful times, yet can allow them, embrace them and move through them with love and compassion.

And I see women that recognise the value they bring, their incredible gifts for the world and their true self worth. The women that quite simply know they are enough, just as they are.

I see these women, because I am that woman now.

I have tried many ways to overcome my fears. All have been helpful, yet nothing has shifted me as much as working with Catherina O’Gorman, founder of Think Love Education and subsequently my training to become a Think Love Accredited Coach.
